Nomenclatural History	The species Lactobacillus kefirgranum was originally described and validly published by Takizawa et al. 1994. In 2004, Vancanneyt et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form Lactobacillus kefiranofaciens kefirgranum (Takizawa et al. 1994) Vancanneyt et al. 2004 .
