Nomenclatural History

The species Lactobacillus parabuchneri was originally described by Farrow et al. 1988. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 30 in 1989. Vancanneyt et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of
Lactobacillus ferintoshensis Simpson et al. 2002
in 2005. In 2020, Zheng et al. established Lactobacillus parabuchneri as the basonym of
Lentilactobacillus parabuchneri (Farrow et al. 1989) Zheng et al. 2020
