Nomenclatural History

The species Lactobacillus piscicola was originally described and validly published by Hiu et al. 1984. Collins et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of
Lactobacillus carnis Shaw and Harding 1986
in 1987. In 1987, Collins et al. established Lactobacillus piscicola as the basonym of
Carnobacterium piscicola (Hiu et al. 1984) Collins et al. 1987
