Nomenclatural History
The species Lactobacillus rhamnosus was originally described and validly published by Collins et al. 1989. Collins et al. elevated the subspecies Hansen 1968 (Approved Lists 1980) to the rank of species to form this name in 1989. In 2020, Zheng et al. established as the basonym of (Hansen 1968) Zheng et al. 2020 .
