Nomenclatural History
This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 25 in 1988. The species Pediococcus urinaeequi was originally described by Mees 1934. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1986 the name was revived by Garvie. In 2005, Felis et al. established as the basonym of (Garvie 1988) Felis et al. 2005 emend. Tohno et al. 2014 .
