Nomenclatural History
|
The genus Trichococcus was originally proposed by Scheff et al. 1984. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 15 in 1984. Liu et al. published an emended description of this genus in 2002. Liu et al. transferred the members of
Lactosphaera Janssen et al. 1995
into this genus in 2002.
