Nomenclatural History	The species Enterococcus saccharolyticus was originally described by Rodrigues and Collins 1990. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 36 in 1991. Chen et al. published an emended description of this species in 2013. Rodrigues and Collins formed this name in 1990 by placing the species Streptococcus saccharolyticus Farrow et al. 1985 into the genus Enterococcus (ex Thiercelin and Jouhaud 1903) Schleifer and Kilpper-Bälz 1984. In 2013, Chen et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form Enterococcus saccharolyticus saccharolyticus (Farrow et al. 1985) Chen et al. 2013 .
