Nomenclatural History	The species Weissella viridescens was originally described by Collins et al. 1993. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 49 in 1994. Collins et al. formed this name in 1993 by placing the species Lactobacillus viridescens Niven and Evans 1957 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Weissella Collins et al. 1994 emend. Bello et al. 2022.
