Nomenclatural History

The species Streptococcus alactolyticus was originally described by Farrow et al. 1984. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 17 in 1985. Vandamme et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of
Streptococcus intestinalis Robinson et al. 1988
in 1999.
