Nomenclatural History
|
The species Streptococcus cristatus was originally described and validly published by Handley et al. 1991. Trüper and De' Clari corrected this name from Streptococcus crista (sic) to Streptococcus cristatus . Jensen et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of
Streptococcus oligofermentans Tong et al. 2003
in 2016.
