Nomenclatural History
The species Streptococcus faecalis was originally described by Andrewes and Horder 1906. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. This name was placed onto the nomina taxorum conservanda by Judicial Opinion 30 in 1963. In 1984, Schleifer and Kilpper-Bälz established as the basonym of (Andrewes and Horder 1906) Schleifer and Kilpper-Bälz 1984 .
