Nomenclatural History
The subspecies Streptococcus gallolyticus pasteurianus was originally described and validly published by Schlegel et al. 2003. This name was affected by Judicial Opinion 81 in 2008. Beck et al. published an emended description of this subspecies in 2008. In 2003, Schlegel et al. reduced Poyart et al. 2002 to the rank of subspecies.
