Nomenclatural History	The species Streptococcus garvieae was originally described by Collins et al. 1983. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 14 in 1984. In 1985, Schleifer et al. established Streptococcus garvieae as the basonym of Lactococcus garvieae (Collins et al. 1984) Schleifer et al. 1986 .
