Nomenclatural History

The subspecies Streptococcus infantarius coli was originally described and validly published by Schlegel et al. 2003. Beck et al. published an emended description of this subspecies in 2008. Poyart et al. elevated this subspecies to the rank of species to form the name
Streptococcus lutetiensis Poyart et al. 2002
in 2002.
