Nomenclatural History
The species Streptococcus macedonicus was originally described and validly published by Tsakalidou et al. 1998. Manachini et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Flint et al. 1999 in 2002. In 2003, Schlegel et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form (Tsakalidou et al. 1998) Schlegel et al. 2003 .
