Nomenclatural History

The family Rubrobacteraceae was originally proposed by 1997. This name was validly published by Stackebrandt et al. 1997. Stackebrandt published an emended description of this family in 2004. Subsequent emendations were proposed by Zhi et al. in 2009 and Foesel et al. in 2016.
