Nomenclatural History
The species Atopobium minutum was originally described by Collins and Wallbanks 1992. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 44 in 1993. Nouioui et al. published an emended description of this species in 2018. Collins and Wallbanks formed this name in 1992 by placing the species (Hauduroy et al. 1937) Moore and Holdeman 1972 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Collins and Wallbanks 1993 emend. Cools et al. 2014.
