Nomenclatural History
The species Atopobium rimae was originally described by Collins and Wallbanks 1992. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 44 in 1993. Collins and Wallbanks formed this name in 1992 by placing the species Olsen et al. 1991 into the genus Collins and Wallbanks 1993 emend. Cools et al. 2014. In 2018, Nouioui et al. established as the basonym of (Olsen et al. 1991) Nouioui et al. 2018 .
