Nomenclatural History
The species Eggerthella lenta was originally described and validly published by Wade et al. 1999. Maruo et al. published an emended description of this species in 2008. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Nouioui et al. in 2018. Wade et al. formed this name in 1999 by placing the species (Eggerth 1935) Prévot 1938 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Wade et al. 1999 emend. Würdemann et al. 2009.
