Nomenclatural History

The species Olsenella uli was originally described and validly published by Dewhirst et al. 2001. This name was affected by Judicial Opinion 81 in 2008. Li et al. published an emended description of this species in 2015. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Kraatz et al. in 2011. Dewhirst et al. formed this name in 2001 by placing the species
Lactobacillus uli Olsen et al. 1991
into the genus Olsenella Dewhirst et al. 2001 emend. Kraatz et al. 2011.
