Nomenclatural History
The genus Actinomyces was originally proposed by Harz 1877. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Slack published an emended description of this genus in 1974. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Nouioui et al. in 2018.
