Nomenclatural History	The species Actinomyces meyeri was originally described by Prévot 1938. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1984 the name was revived and validly published by Cato et al.. Prévot formed this name in 1938 by placing the species Actinobacterium meyeri Prévot 1938 into the genus Actinomyces Harz 1877 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Nouioui et al. 2018. In 2018, Nouioui et al. established Actinomyces meyeri as the basonym of Schaalia meyeri (Prévot 1938) Nouioui et al. 2018 .
