Nomenclatural History
The species Actinomyces naeslundii was originally described by Thompson and Lovestedt 1951. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Henssge et al. published an emended description of this species in 2009. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Nouioui et al. in 2018.
