Nomenclatural History
This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 10 in 1983. The species Arcanobacterium haemolyticum was originally described by MacLean et al. 1946. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1982 the name was revived by Collins et al.. Nouioui et al. published an emended description of this species in 2018.
