Nomenclatural History

The family Micrococcaceae was originally proposed by Pribram 1929. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Stackebrandt et al. published an emended description of this family in 1997. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Zhi et al. in 2009.
