Nomenclatural History
The species Micrococcus lylae was originally described by Kloos et al. 1974. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Wieser et al. published an emended description of this species in 2002. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Nouioui et al. in 2018.
