Nomenclatural History
The genus Arthrobacter was originally proposed by Conn and Dimmick 1947. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. This name was affected by Judicial Opinion 24 in 1958. Keddie published an emended description of this genus in 1974. Subsequent emendations were proposed by Koch et al. in 1995, Busse in 2016 and Kämpfer et al. in 2020.
