The species Arthrobacter siderocapsulatus was originally described by Dubinina and Zhdanov 1975. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Chun et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of (Trevisan 1889) Migula 1895 (Approved Lists 1980) in 2001.
