Nomenclatural History
|
The species Stomatococcus mucilaginosus was originally described by Migula 1900. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1982 the name was revived and validly published by Bergan and Kocur. In 2000, Collins et al. established Stomatococcus mucilaginosus as the basonym of
Rothia mucilaginosa (Bergan and Kocur 1982) Collins et al. 2000 emend. Nouioui et al. 2018
