Nomenclatural History

The species Aureobacterium esteraromaticum was originally described and validly published by Yokota et al. 1993. Yokota et al. formed this name in 1993 by placing the species
Flavobacterium esteraromaticum (Omelianski 1923) Bergey et al. 1930 (Approved Lists 1980)
into the genus Microbacterium Orla-Jensen 1919 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Fidalgo et al. 2016. In 1998, Takeuchi and Hatano established Aureobacterium esteraromaticum as the basonym of
Microbacterium esteraromaticum (Omelianski 1923) Takeuchi and Hatano 1998
