The species Aureobacterium resistens was originally described by Funke et al. 1998. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 65 in 1998. In 2001, Behrendt et al. established as the basonym of (Funke et al. 1998) Behrendt et al. 2001 emend. Nouioui et al. 2018 .
