Nomenclatural History	The species Clavibacter rathayi was originally described and validly published by Davis et al. 1984. Davis et al. formed this name in 1984 by placing the species Corynebacterium rathayi (Smith 1913) Dowson 1942 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Clavibacter Davis et al. 1984. In 1993, Zgurskaya et al. established Clavibacter rathayi as the basonym of Rathayibacter rathayi (Smith 1913) Zgurskaya et al. 1993 .
