The species Curtobacterium albidum was originally described by Yamada and Komagata 1972. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Yamada and Komagata established Curtobacterium albidum as a later homotypic synonym of
Brevibacterium albidum Komagata and Iizuka 1964 (Approved Lists 1980)
in 1972.
