Nomenclatural History
The species Corynebacterium casei was originally described and validly published by Brennan et al. 2001. This name was affected by Judicial Opinion 81 in 2008. Nouioui et al. published an emended description of this species in 2018.

Judicial Opinion 81 affirms that this name is Validly Published. Tindall 2019 asserts that one of the three nomenclatural type deposits is a patent strain.
