Nomenclatural History
The species Corynebacterium glutamicum was originally described by Abe et al. 1967. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Nouioui et al. published an emended description of this species in 2018. Liebl et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Su and Yamada 1960 (Approved Lists 1980) in 1991. Liebl et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Lee and Good 1963 (Approved Lists 1980) in 1991.
