Nomenclatural History
|
The species Corynebacterium iranicum was originally described by Scharif 1961. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1982 the name was revived and validly published by Carlson and Vidaver. In 1984, Davis et al. established Corynebacterium iranicum as the basonym of
Clavibacter iranicus corrig. (Carlson and Vidaver 1982) Davis et al. 1984
