Nomenclatural History
The species Corynebacterium minutissimum was originally described by Sarkany et al. 1962. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1983 the name was revived and validly published by Collins and Jones. Yassin et al. published an emended description of this species in 2002. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Nouioui et al. in 2018.
