Nomenclatural History
This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 10 in 1983. The species Corynebacterium mycetoides was originally described by Castellani 1942. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1982 the name was revived by Collins. Nouioui et al. published an emended description of this species in 2018.
