Nomenclatural History	The species Corynebacterium pseudodiphtheriticum was originally described by Lehmann and Neumann 1896. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Nouioui et al. published an emended description of this species in 2018. Parker et al. established Corynebacterium pseudodiphtheriticum as an earlier homotypic synonym of Corynebacterium hofmannii Holland 1920 pro synon. Corynebacterium pseudodiphtheriticum Lehmann and Neumann 1896 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Nouioui et al. 2018 in 2019.
