Nomenclatural History
|
The species Corynebacterium tritici was originally described by Hutchinson 1917. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1982 the name was revived and validly published by Carlson and Vidaver. In 1984, Davis et al. established Corynebacterium tritici as the basonym of
Clavibacter tritici (Carlson and Vidaver 1982) Davis et al. 1984
