Nomenclatural History

The family Gordoniaceae was originally proposed by 1997. This name was validly published by Stackebrandt et al. 1997. Nouioui et al. published an emended description of this family in 2018. Zhi et al. transferred the members of this family into
Nocardiaceae Castellani and Chalmers 1919 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Nouioui et al. 2018
in 2009.
