Nomenclatural History
The species Mycobacterium peregrinum was originally described by Bojalil et al. 1962. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1992 the name was revived and validly published by Kusunoki and Ezaki. Nouioui et al. published an emended description of this species in 2018. In 2018, Gupta et al. established as the basonym of (Kusunoki and Ezaki 1992) Gupta et al. 2018 .
