Nomenclatural History
|
The species Nocardia salmonicida was originally described by Rucker 1969. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1999 the name was revived and validly published by Isik et al.. In 2018, Nouioui et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form
Nocardia salmonicida salmonicida (Isik et al. 1999) Nouioui et al. 2018
. Nouioui et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of
Nocardia soli Maldonado et al. 2001 emend. Nouioui et al. 2018
in 2018.
