Nomenclatural History
The species Rhodococcus rhodochrous was originally described by Tsukamura 1974. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Rainey et al. published an emended description of this species in 1995. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Nouioui et al. in 2018. Rainey et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of (ex Grotenfelt 1889) Tsukamura et al. 1991 in 1995.
