Nomenclatural History
|
The species Rhodococcus aurantiacus was originally described by Tsukamura and Mizuno 1971. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1985 the name was revived and validly published by Tsukamura and Yano. Collins et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of
Corynebacterium paurometabolum Steinhaus 1941 (Approved Lists 1980)
in 1988.
