The species Rhodococcus chlorophenolicus was originally described and validly published by Apajalahti et al. 1986. In 1994, Häggblom et al. established as the basonym of (Apajalahti et al. 1986) Häggblom et al. 1994 emend. Nouioui et al. 2018 .
