Nomenclatural History
|
The species Rhodococcus luteus was originally described by Söhngen 1913. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1982 the name was revived and validly published by Nesterenko et al.. Klatte et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of
Rhodococcus fascians (Tilford 1936) Goodfellow 1984 emend. Nouioui et al. 2018
in 1994.
