Nomenclatural History
|
The species Rhodococcus maris was originally described by Harrison 1929. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1982 the name was revived and validly published by Nesterenko et al.. In 1995, Rainey et al. established Rhodococcus maris as the basonym of
Dietzia maris (Nesterenko et al. 1982) Rainey et al. 1995 emend. Nouioui et al. 2018
