Nomenclatural History
|
The species Rhodococcus roseus was originally described by Grotenfelt 1889. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1991 the name was revived and validly published by Tsukamura et al.. Rainey et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of
Rhodococcus rhodochrous (Zopf 1891) Tsukamura 1974 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Nouioui et al. 2018
in 1995.
