Nomenclatural History
The species Rhodococcus rubropertinctus was originally described by Tsukamura 1974. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Mordarski et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of (Bergey et al. 1923) Goodfellow and Alderson 1977 (Approved Lists 1980) in 1980. In 1988, Stackebrandt et al. established as the basonym of corrig. (Hefferan 1904) Stackebrandt et al. 1989 emend. Nouioui et al. 2018 .
